Over a year ago, Ariana Grande rocked the world with the iconic album, Eternal Sunshine. Bangers like "Yes, And?" and "The Boy is Mine" were added to the shelf of her S-tier discography and all 352 of my playlists.
Last night, Grande dropped the highly anticipated deluxe that included 6 additional songs, and my girl did not come to PLAY! Here are the songs that just made my life eternally sunnier.

As if my appreciation for this song could not get any bigger, goose bumps were present within the first 5 seconds of the new portion. When we received the intro a year ago, it felt like we did not receive the entire story, but in this extended version, we get the whole story.
I think that is one of the many beautiful things about receiving an extended version of a piece of art. The art is not only being added onto but the piece reshaping itself in our minds as more of the art and its truth are being revealed. It is always surreal to experience that, but I am glad to say that I experienced exactly that during this song. Stunning work.

Twilight Zone: 4/5
I was quick to figure out that this was the song that was on the (934)-33-ERASE teaser hotline (Ariana created a number that you could call and teased some of the deluxe about a week ago). The lyrics were so personal to me. Although Ariana does not miss this specific person, she's still in shock and a little dazed as to what is happening.
She's in the Twilight Zone because nothing feels real, and I got a strong vibe from that without listening to the lyrics. The instrumental really allows you to get lost in what seems like a starry and galactic journey to discover emotions and allow yourself to go into an unknown place to be vulnerable with yourself. One of my favorites!

Warm: 4/5
One thing that I try to do more is to pick out the lyricism of a piece since I am always so occupied with the beat or the music, so I noticed that these lyrics feed off of "Twilight Zone" and the feeling of being unsure, "Warm" is more of an intimate and dependent song.
It seems that Ariana has finally acquired a "safe and sound" space that she feels more comfortable in, directly contradicting the feelings that "Twilight Zone" gave her. The "won't look down" is also such an earworm and I can already tell you that it will randomly come out my mouth around 43 times tomorrow.
Dandelion: 5/5
We're starting to get into the R&B portion of the album, and this song truly stunned me. Maybe this was just me, but I got a lot of "Bad Idea" vibes just from the alluring and addictive instrumental. "I bloom at night" and "boy, just don't blow this" are my two favorite lyrics on the deluxe.
So, so clever. This song never had a dull moment, and I was eager to hear everything. At this point, Ariana is willing to give her all in this relationship in hopes that he does not screw up. There is a lot of trust and vulnerability behind that, and sometimes that scares people, so she offers herself up as a beautiful dandelion to show that there is no need to be scared.

Past Life: 4.8/5
Something told me in my gut to claim this track as my own before the deluxe came out and my gut is never wrong. This song is musically genius and, dare I say, the long-lost sister to "True Story" (my favorite song of all time).
Ariana is a step ahead of the relationship and has already left it behind, or in her "past life". This highlights the importance of the limited time to dwindle and when the time comes to leave some of your baggage behind because you have so much of your life ahead of you. A genius song to turn over a new leaf.
Hampstead: 4/5
Although I'm not one to lean toward a ballad, this one was a very good one. Her raw vocal talent and emotion made me feel every teardrop she might have wept while creating this song. Lyrically, there are so many moving parts, similar to the way that life unfolds.
My favorite lyric, "you think you've read the book I'm still writing," means that everything is a work in progress, and people will come and glimpse your story, but they don't know what page they are on and how many more chapters there are left to go. Such a revealing and vulnerable aspect of life to make art with.

Final Thoughts
Such a beautiful conclusion to an album and a wonderful story that could not have been more complete. In terms of vulnerability, I believe that Sweetener was the only album that had this much transparency in it, which is arguably Ariana's most critically acclaimed album of all time.
The 6 songs were a considerable success for me. What is your favorite song and why? Was this the best conclusion to the album?
