It is soon to be that time of the year… Halloween!

Halloween is that day when you can cram in junk food and watch scary movies, but possibly the best part of it is matching costumes with your friends. However, it is hard to find costumes that are not overused, easy to pull off and good enough to be confident strutting around at school. These five ideas below fit all the concerns above, and hopefully give you inspiration and ideas. Perhaps one would be your Halloween costume this year!

Greek Goddesses

Why? This costume is easily recognizable and customizable. You can go full-out or wear something from your closet, and none would be the wiser.

Usually, the traditional goddess costume color scheme would be white and gold. Additionally, you can pick between buying a dress or separate tops and skirts/dresses. The finishing touch would be a gold leaf crown, paired with golden bangles and sandals. However, there is also the option to dress as a specific goddess (ex: Aphrodite). This is fun for those who want to above and beyond because there are many different elements you can bring out in your costume to make it cute and unique. As a finishing touch, you can buy gold glitter spray to give that goddess-like shimmer to you and your costume!

Scream Queens (2015)

Why? This movie is what Scream and Mean Girls together would look like. It's the perfect costume if you're a girly girl but want to incorporate a Halloween-esque element to it.

The basic costume would be any kind of pink outfit, which is where you can be creative. The Chanels (the characters in Scream Queens) dress in flashy outfits which is something to keep in mind. A fun fact was that Ariana Grande played one of the Chanels. Red gloves would complete the outfit (compared to messy red paint) if you want a touch of gore. To differentiate your costume for others, you can buy unique pairs of shoes to really make yours shine. It's important that the shoes are comfortable though, so you can have a nice night out without blisters!

Kiss, Marry, Kill

Why? These costumes are the ultimate trio. Since they are abstract concepts, they allow you to use your creativity and put your own spin on it.

Plus, this is a game most everyone knows. For kiss, the costume would be in a red concept, possibly paired with a pair of high heels and bright red lipstick. Marry would be visioned in a white dress, maybe lacy, and a veil or glittering hair accessories. Think of a traditional bride on her wedding day. Kill would be a darker color concept, like a vain grim reaper. All three would create a striking image together, keeping it original yet familiar!

Cher and Dionne

Why? It's Clueless! Cher and Dionne are the duo, and their outfits are iconic and classic.

Wherever you go, people will know who you are. Both Cher and Dionne have plaid concepts, so keep an eye out for any cute yellow or black plaid jackets and/or skirts. Once you've got the plaid, all you need is a matching vest and white undershirt. You'll be all set for evening trick or treating as well because you'll be layered up!
