There has been no shortage of romance dramas such as 'Queen of Tears and 'Lovely Runner,' as well as thrillers such as 'Death's Game' and 'Uncle Samsik.' However, many lesser-known dramas still captivate viewers on Netflix, with fewer advertisements and high viewership ratings. High school thrillers such as 'Hierarchy' and marriage romances such as 'Love After Divorce' have sparked huge fanbases and created a plethora of Korean drama fans vying for the next show to watch. The 8 Show

'The 8 Show' ended several weeks ago but is still at the top of Netflix's Korean drama charts to this date due to its psychologically thrilling plot and interesting cast of characters. Emitting 'Squid Game' vibes, 'The 8 Show' follows eight contestants who play a game in which the longer they stay inside the building, the more money they receive.

However, the game rules are completely unknown, and as they figure out more about the game, conflicts between the contestants arise, and human nature reveals its darkest aspects. Starring Chun Woo-Hee, who acted in 'The Atypical Family,' and Ryu Jun-Yeol, the interesting storyline and characters will keep you hooked throughout all eight of its episodes.

The Atypical Family

Chun Woo-Hee returns again, this time with a family of dying superpowers. In this fantasy romance Korean drama, Do Da-Hee, acted by Chun Woo-Hee, enters the Bok family, an 'atypical' family afflicted by many modern problems that cause them to lose their superpowers. When Do Da-Hee's entrance begins to revive their powers again, a romance develops, motives are exposed, and backgrounds are uncovered. 'The Atypical Family' is exciting and romantic and contains a cast of characters you'll grow to hate and love.

Hierarchy

A seemingly innocent scholarship student enters an elitist school of powerful and rich teenagers. As we dive into a world full of revenge for killed siblings, a romance with the queen of the school, and deceitful side characters, Hierarchy sets up an amazing storyline with mysterious characters. Kim Jae-Won, acting as the antagonist of the story Kim Ri-An, and Lee Chae-Min, the main character who seeks revenge, spearhead the drama into international fame, peaking at the top of Netflix's charts. If you liked 'SKY Castle' and 'The Heirs', this Korean drama is made perfectly for you.

Queen of Tears

The Hong Hae-In and Baek Hyun-Woo frenzy is slowly dying away, but that does not mean that 'Queen of Tears' no longer holds its rightful spot as the queen of 2024's Korean dramas. Following a rocky patch in the marriage between Hong Hae-In, acted by Kim Ji-Won, and Baek Hyun-Woo, acted by Kim Soo-Hyun, the two begin to fall in love again as sinister characters, terminal illnesses, and forces beyond their control threaten to tear them apart. Dare to Love Me

'Dare to Love Me' has barely started but is already beginning to attract hundreds of thousands of viewers around the world with its exciting plot and lovable characters. Set in the Joseon period, the story follows a woman who is mistreated by everyone she meets. However, when she finds a scholarly man who treats her politely, she immediately falls in love. Starring Kim Myung-Soo and Lee Yoo-Young, 'Dare to Love Me' has all the proper romance elements to kickstart a great romance drama as well as a great blend of comedy to keep you laughing throughout. Viewers will fall in love first with the characters, then the story, as the directors slowly bring out the cast and rise to meet the expectations the world has set for 'Dare to Love Me.'

Frankly Speaking

From his popular drama 'Love in Contract,' Ko Kyung-Po returns as a single, middle-aged man who becomes afflicted with speaking his mind without thinking, causing him a huge crisis at his job as an announcer. On Woo-Joo, played by Kang Han-na, the star of 'Moon Lovers' and 'My Roommate is a Gumiho',’ invites him onto her variety show, and they fight through a complicated relationship.
