Welcome back to the endearing friendships, beautiful scenery, and, of course, messy love triangles of Cousins Beach: the third and final season on Amazon's The Summer I Turned Pretty is set to be released this Summer!

What We Know So Far

After a series of delays, it has been confirmed that the show will return in July 2025, keeping in line with its pattern of releasing new seasons during Summer. However, unlike previous seasons with 7-8 episodes, this season is set to have 11 episodes. This makes it the longest season thus far!

Given that seasons 1 and 2 of the show followed the first two book in author Jenny Han's The Summer I Turned Pretty, it is safe to assume that season 3 will roughly follow the plot of the third book, We'll Always Have Summer. Below is the official synopsis for this book:

Belly has only ever been in love with two boys, both with the last name Fisher. And after being with Jeremiah for the last two years, she’s almost positive he is her soul mate. Almost.

While Conrad has not gotten over the mistake of letting Belly go, Jeremiah has always known that Belly is the girl for him. So when Belly and Jeremiah decide to make things forever, Conrad realizes that it’s now or never — tell Belly he loves her or lose her for good. Belly will have to confront her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad and face the inevitable: She will have to break one of their hearts.

Cast

Lola Tung (Belly), Christopher Briney (Conrad), and Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah) have all been confirmed to return this season! Although official casting details for others are yet to be released, based on early promotional materials and the direction of the show, we can safely assume that most major other characters will be returning, including:

Season 3 Predictions

With the third season coming soon, theories are running abound online about what will happen next in The Summer I Turned Pretty. Season 2 ended with Conrad giving Belly and Jeremiah his blessing to be together despite his feelings for her, and many predict that his feelings will linger into this new installment.

Given the two-year hiatus between seasons, it is also expected that there will be a time jump in season 3. Not only would this show the main characters' journeys through college, but it would also be in alignment with the book's two year time jump.

Previously, the soundtrack of The Summer I Turned Pretty was full of Taylor Swift songs such as Back to December, Cruel Summer, and Bigger Than the Whole Sky. This made the show incredibly popular amongst Swifties and it is expected that Season 3's soundtrack will be similar.

The new promotional poster for this season features Belly standing confidently by herself in an elegant yellow dress. As such, it is predicted that she will be focusing more on herself and her aspirations rather than the Fisher brothers.

Arguably the most important question that Season 3 must answer is who the protagonist Belly will end up with: the brooding first-love Conrad, or the loving best friend Jeremiah? There has been great debate over who is Belly's perfect match, but given that the tv show follows the books quite strictly, many predict that she will end up with Conrad like in the books.
