You have probably been scrolling on Instagram or TikTok and come across this hashtag: #nassie. I know I certainly was confused because it just popped out of nowhere around three weeks ago, and suddenly my entire "for you page" is covered with this tagline. Videos wanting to "audition" for an act at their wedding, comments about with the tagline, and much more grew increasingly popular online.

So what is #nassie? Let's dive into the internet's newest ship.

Who Is Involved?

The name "Nassie" is a ship name for two popular influencers, Nick Wilkins and Cassie Logan. People on the internet thought these two influencers would be "good" together, and decided to ship them with "Nassie." Wilkins is a 21-year-old social media influencer from Colorado, the United States, who had initially launched his journey in content creation in 2019. His content focuses mostly on his relationship with his family. Wilkins has over a million followers on Instagram, four million subscribers on YouTube, and nearly eight million followers on TikTok on the account @n1ckwilkins.

Logan is a 21-year-old social media influencer from Canada that had started creating content in 2022. She focuses on book and reading content, creating relatable content about popular books and characters as well as taking videos of the nature where she lives in Canada. Her Instagram account, @cassiesbookss, has a million followers, and her TikTok account, @cassiesbooktok, has garnered nearly three million followers over the years.

But recently, their content has mostly been focused on each other.

What Happened?

When the #nassie tagline found its way to the attention of Wilkins and Logan, they started creating and posting content that directly mentioned each other's names and accounts. It was like they were having a conversation through social media posts, which the public supported whole-heartedly and posted a large amount of edits online. They thought that Wilkins and Logan's online chemistry was well-played and went crazy when they found out that the two influencers had gotten each other's phone numbers.

Their accounts gained instant attention and the tagline, #nassie, went viral. One viral line that Logan used in one of their duet videos was, "What's cooking, good looking?" when responding to a post Wilkins made.

By this time, the public was still enthralled in this blossoming relationship. However, some thought it was a public stunt. Some comments claimed that they had barely any chemistry and this could all be a publicity stunt to gain followers and views on social media.

Others also claimed that Logan was not "good enough" for Wilkins, due to the smaller numbers of followers or subscribers. Many did not want to believe this was true, and had hoped that this was not a publicity stunt because they had hoped that Wilkins and Logan would at least become good friends. The majority of followers of both people were deeply invested and thought that they had great potential.

So...Did They Meet Up In Person?

Yes, they did! Wilkins had posted a video about getting things for Logan for Valentine's Day. Fans had noticed that around the same time after this post, Wilkins posted being on a plane and Logan being in a hotel room.

They surmised that the two were to meet up in person, most likely for Valentine's Day. Fans had been excited to see what future will come for Wilkins and Logan, and hoped for the best.

On Feb. 15, Logan posted on her Instagram account with photos of her at a restaurant, and one with Wilkins. It was captioned, "Cassie's first valentine." Similarly, Wilkins posted a day later with a series of photos in the same restaurant as Logan's post. It was captioned like Logan's with "Nick's first valentine." Fans were ecstatic in the comments and some said that they have never been so happy for two strangers. Both Wilkins and Logan had posted several videos of them together on their accounts, accumulating mass attention and exposure online.

We don't really know. Some fans think that Logan will visit Wilkins in the United States, and that they will continue growing their relationship. Many hope that they can find something along the lines of love in their relationship.

While some people still think this act is all a but a publicity stunt, most of the public believe that they have gone to visit each other and brushed off this idea. But really, it's going to be up to Wilkins and Logan themselves where they take this next.
