Sasha Anne Worenklein is a young beauty influence who has been diagnosed with lymphoma, but she's not planning on letting that stop her. This weekend, I had the pleasure of asking her some questions, but before we get to that, let's get to know who Sasha is.
Who is Sasha Anne?
Around 5 years ago, a YouTube Channel popped up self-titled after a young girl named Sasha Anne. Since then she has become widely successful on and off YouTube, gaining a loving fanbase along the way.
Sasha's Fight Against Lymphoma
Sasha loves to sing and dance, one day, while she was dancing, she started to notice shortness of breath.
"I honestly thought it was just dusty in my room so I kept vacuuming but that didn't help. When I would sing, I had to sit down because I got so tired. One night, I was watching the show, Jessie, on Disney+ and I touched my neck, I felt a bump on my collarbone. So I went to my mom [...] that's when the appointments started."
As you may know, there are two types of Lymphoma, Sasha has Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Luckily, this is considered to be one of the most curable forms of cancer.
What is Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Hodgkin's Lymphoma is the cancerous manifestation in the white blood cells (a.k.a lymphocytes), where Reed-Sternberg cells are present.
Sasha's Treatment
Sasha Anne has had a biopsy, her mom gives her two injections every night, and she been going to get blood work done every morning in preparation for her treatment. She is about to begin to go through chemotherapy, once every two weeks, for 6 months.
To anybody else in this situation: Stay strong, you will get better and know there are people going through the same thing. It's not the olden days where it can't be treated.
Supporting Sasha Anne
"How's your support system? It's amazing. Best support system I can ask for.
" Her family has been incredibly supportive, telling her how she is strong and she is going to get through this. She said it's her friends and family that is keeping her grounded.
When asked how her fans could help her through this, she replied "just keep being their sweet selves", and that fan art makes her day!
She's also launching the 1 million smiles to spread Good Vibes to everyone in the world is dealing with illness like her who have to be quarantined due to illnesses because of Coronavirus. "our Smiles are covered by mask so I thought it would be amazing to see how many Smiles I can collect to share with the world."
