2) Chocolate Frozen Yogurt
I favor vanilla over chocolate, but if you're that one chocolate frozen yogurt person, this recipe from The Fit Peach is for you.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of Greek yogurt - plain and unsweetened
- 1 cup of cacao powder
- 1/2 cup of almond milk- plain or vanilla and unsweetened.
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup of maple syrup
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions:
- First, blend all the ingredients until smooth and well mixed. Then, pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn it for about 15 minutes (if using a KitchenAid). It will thicken to a soft serve consistency.
- If you want it as soft serve, just scoop it into bowls and enjoy! For traditional ice cream, put it in an airtight container or a lined pan, cover it tightly with plastic wrap, and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
- Before serving, let it thaw a bit, then add your favorite toppings and enjoy!

3) Strawberry Frozen Yogurt
Ah, strawberry—my second favorite flavor! This delicious recipe from Serious Eats will have you craving more.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of washed, quartered strawberries
- Zest of one whole lemon
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt
- 2 cups Greek yogurt
Instructions:
- First, combine berries, lemon zest, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the berries start to simmer, about 4 minutes, then reduce the heat to low and cook for another 7 minutes until the berries are soft and the juice thickens.
- Next, blend the mixture until smooth and strain it through a fine-mesh strainer to get about 2 cups of purée. Mix the purée with yogurt in a bowl. If it’s too sweet, add a bit of lemon juice. Chill in the fridge for about 3 hours.
- Finally, churn it in an ice cream machine according to the instructions. You can eat it right away like soft serve, or freeze for 2 to 3 hours for a firmer texture. Let it sit out for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

4) Mango Lassi Frozen Yogurt
Mango is a classic summer fruit, and mango frozen yogurt makes a delightful treat for hot days. This recipe is also from Serious Eats.
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe medium-sized mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1 1/2 cups full-fat plain yogurt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest from 1 whole lime
- Juice of 2 whole limes, to taste
- Kosher salt, to taste
Instructions:
- First, take some ripe mangoes and blend them in a blender or food processor on high for about 30 seconds until they're smooth. Once that's done, strain the mango purée and measure 1 1/2 cups. You can save the extra purée for later!
- Next, grab a medium bowl and mix the mango purée with some yogurt, sugar, and lime zest. Whisk it all together really well until the sugar isn’t grainy anymore. Now, add lime juice a little at a time (like 1/2 teaspoon each time) and sprinkle in kosher salt (a bit at 1/4 teaspoon at a time), tasting it along the way. You want it to be a little tangy with a hint of salt.
- If your mangoes were at room temperature, chill the mixture in the fridge for about an hour until it’s nice and cold. Then, churn it in an ice cream maker following the instructions that come with it. Once it’s done, transfer the frozen yogurt to a container that seals tightly and put it in the freezer for at least 3 to 4 hours before you enjoy it!

5) Blueberry Frozen Yogurt
Blueberry frozen yogurt is one of the best frozen treats out there! It's super tasty and refreshing, plus it’s a great way to enjoy some blueberries in a fun way. This recipe is from Simply Recipes, and I recommend that you give it a try.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3/4 cup to 1 cup of sugar (depending on how sweet your blueberries are, and how sweet you want the result to be)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups full-fat plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
Instructions:
- First, grab a medium saucepan and toss in some blueberries, lemon juice, sugar, a pinch of salt, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Put it on the stove over medium heat and keep stirring until the sugar all melts away.
- While it’s heating up, use a potato masher to squish the blueberries. Once the sugar is gone, take it off the heat. Use a strainer to get rid of the blueberry skins, and let that yummy syrup cool down for about 10 minutes.
- Next, mix in some yogurt and milk and stir it all together really well. Put a lid on the pan and stick it in the fridge for a few hours (or overnight) to chill until it’s cold.
- After that, pour the blueberry yogurt mix into your ice cream maker and follow the instructions for it (it usually takes around 25 minutes). You can eat it right away, but it’ll be soft. If you want it to be more like real ice cream, pop it in the freezer for a few hours to firm it up! Enjoy!
