Princess Braids

May be hard for curlier hair.

What it is: two braids pulled back into an elegant half up hairstyle.

How To Get Them:

  1. Brush aside bangs or smaller layers of hair
  2. Separate the clumps of hair on either side of your temple. They should be about the same size.
  3. Separate each into 3 clumps and braid them.
  4. Tie each braid at the bottom.
  5. Pull them to meet at the back of your head. Secure them together with a claw clip or small elastic.

Half Up Hairstyle

What it is: an astonishingly simple hairstyle that involved pulling back the hair at your temple.

How To Get It:

  2. Separate the clumps of hair on either side of your temple. They should be about the same size.
  3. Pull them to meet at the back of your head. Secure them together with a claw clip or small elastic.

Claw Clip Ponytail

What it is: an elevated version of the high ponytail.

How To Get It:

  1. Remove anything that you want to use to frame your face.
  2. Gather the rest of your hair into a ponytail
  3. If necessary, brush back any bumps
  4. Tie with an elastic band.
  5. With your hand, move the ponytail up to it’s desired height, and secure it with a claw clip.

Half Ponytail

What it is: a hairstyle that makes your hair seem fuller and bigger, works best with thicker hair.

How To Get It:

  1. Remove any layers, bangs or anything you want around your face.
  2. Find a fairly large triangular section of hair in the middle of your scalp. It should be about as thick as your fist.
  3. Tie tightly using a hair elastic.
  4. Use a claw clip if you want to increase the height of your ponytail.

Half Braid

(no video available currently)

What it is: a hairstyle in which you use a braid rather than a center part.

How To Get It:

  1. Remove any layers, bangs or anything you want around your face.
  2. Brush back the part in your hair until it is no longer visible.
  3. Find a fairly large triangular section of hair in the middle of your scalp. It should be about as thick as two or three fingers.
  4. Separate it from the rest of your hair.
  5. Braid it carefully and tightly, making sure it isn’t oriented towards either side of your hair.
  6. Secure with an elastic band.

Conclusion

Let me know if you have any questions, or any tips you'd like me to add! I'd also love for people of different hair types to comment if possible (mention what hair type you have if possible.) Thanks in advance! My personal favorite of these is the half pony. Be sure to tell me what yours is!
