1. golden hour by JVKE

This song is just chef’s kiss; a beautifully breathtaking romantic ballad to stare at the clouds going by, the sun going down the horizon, and plucking daisies. It’s the type of track where you just close your eyes…and contemplate your existence.

2. blue by yung kai

‘blue’ by yung kai is a heartfelt track, with soft guitar melodies, and to me, it gives off that airy light academia vibe. Picture this; waking up and brewing your favourite tea or coffee, taking in its aroma, reading Pride and Prejudice, while this pretty song is playing in the background. It’s like a main character moment, and frankly it really makes me feel like I'm one of those protagonists!

3. Green Green Grass by George Ezra

Ah, George Ezra’s ‘Green Green Grass’ is an amazingly upbeat pop song, with an equally amazing message—to savour life to its fullest, and celebrate its memories rather than mourn its loss. This is literally THAT song—to which you dance crazily, without a care in the world, or vibe to with friends. Life is short, people, and these moments don’t last forever so…dance in the April showers, feel the blades of grass against your feet, to this song—because this is literally the soundtrack for a cheerful spring.

4. Beautiful Things by Benson Boone

This chartbuster not only has powerful vocals, but also has a relatable approach to life—it paints a vivid image how we are grateful and appreciate all the joys of life, but are also fearful of losing them. It depicts a transition similar to the seasonal change from winter to spring; from darkness to light, of how better things are always awaiting us. The music video garnered popularity (over 500 million + views!) through its themes of love and loss, while offering a subtle beam of light too!

5. Best Day Of My Life by American Authors

Tad old…but it’s gold. This American Authors classic is such an uplifting one, honestly it is something I could blast on the car Bluetooth on a road trip in the spring break. The positivity radiated by this song is literally so contagious. It is so spring-coded, reminding me of one of those days where you’re just goofing around, with your favourite people—no thoughts about the future….and you’re just experiencing the FLOW!

6. Love Story by Indila

'Love Story' by Indila, proves that music is a universal language, and it transcends language barriers. The instrumentals in this song are so heavenly (especially the vocalising towards the end!) and magical, that this is my go-to track, for when I’m taking my usual evening walk, even though I don't know the 'F' in French. Indila's singing makes me want to learn the lovely language too, so I can understand her lyrics, feel the essence of that poetry.

It kind of makes you want to roam around the Parisian streets, when it is all misty, early spring, sipping hot chocolate, and gazing at the grandeur of the Eiffel Tower. Moreover, the little pulsing beats, like falling snowflakes make it an excellent track choice for a winter playlist too!

7. Shivers by Ed Sheeran

This Ed Sheeran's classic has one of the catchiest rhythms I've ever heard. It's a feel-good pop song, which literally gives you the 'shivers' as well. It is assertive, yet light-hearted, just like the onset of springtime!

8. Where You Lead I Will Follow by Carole King

You may recognise this as the beloved intro from Gilmore Girls, a bittersweet Netflix series starring my favourite, wholesome mother-daughter duo, Lorelai and Rory, adored by fans from around the world. Playing this on your headphones feels like you're Rory Gilmore, wandering through the cozy lanes of Star's Hollow, searching for the latest book haunt, and refreshes you mentally.

9. Somewhere Only We Know by Keane

You know that one song that sends you into nostalgia? When you wonder how things would have been if they were how they were? Memories of childhood that seem like a fever dream?

I often get that, while listening to this number. This song is characterised by hazy spring elements, and is crafted exquisitely, with a wistful and low-key sweet vibe.

10. Dancing Queen by ABBA

And, ending our playlist with a preppy, memorable song that makes you want to dance your feet off , and turn on celebratory-mode, just like the nature has, after going dormant for several months in winter. It has the catchiest instrumental hooks, and it’s one of those tunes that you’ve ‘heard somewhere’. So, kick off your shoes, and spin and twirl into a frenzy!

Conclusion

These ten songs feel like a gush of caffeine on a sleepy morning, giving you the positive energy, the nostalgia, and an escape from monotony—all the must-haves of a special springtime playlist; which makes the season even more enjoyable!
